At Pindar Vineyards the award-winning wines are quite literally dreams come true. It was the dream of our founder, Dr. Herodotus “Dan” Damianos, that helped create the wine making industry on Long Island in the early 1980’s. Over the past 30 years Pindar Vineyards has become Long Island’s best-known wine producer, encompassing more than 500 scenic acres, growing 17 varieties of grapes, and crafting them into some 23 varietals and proprietary blends. With a production of 70,000 cases of wine a year, Pindar Vineyards is the largest vineyard on Long Island.
At Duck Walk Vineyards our wines have been repeatedly recognized for excellence in national competitions. From our Vidal Ice Wine made with grapes actually frozen on the vine, to our Blueberry Port crafted from wild Maine blueberries, to our unique Pinot Meunier, we strive to create wines that are distinctive and exceptional. Duck Walk's newer location on the North Fork of Long Island, surrounded by 30 beautiful acres of Sauvignon Blanc grape vines, is an ideal location to taste Duck Walk's renowned wines. Baiting Hollow Farm Vineyard
Baiting Hollow Farm Vineyard, with the main house built circa 1861, is a quintessential piece of the North Fork; the tasting house recalls a Rockwellian feel; a perfect farm house accompanied by a bright red barn and stable which houses their very own pony and horse rescue. Inside, Baiting Hollow has a bistro style wine bar with distinguished wrought iron bar stools and tables, soft lighting and plenty of wine enthusiast paraphernalia. Back outside, breathe in the fresh country air on their outdoor tasting deck—even if it's a bit nippy outside, each table has its own heating lamps to keep you as warm as a glass of one of their full-bodied reds.
Jason’s Vineyard sits in Jamesport on the North Fork of Long Island, encompassing a 20-acre space. Proprietor Jason Damianos received a third degree in enology at the University of California at Fresno acquiring high honors and accolades for his work. Continuing his studies, he attended the University of Bordeaux and worked in renowned regions like Medoc, Premiere Cote de Bordeaux, Loupiac and Cadiallac. The Long Island vineyard flourishes with the finest French clones of chardonnay, merlot, cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc and malbec.
Jason has perfected a Meritage blend that has received industry attention since its first vintage. It is a combination of merlot, cabernet franc and cabernet sauvignon that ages in French oak to create a complex wine filled with ripe fruit, rich tannins and a touch of earthiness. The wine possesses the virtue of versatility; it can easily be served immediately or held to mature for future drinking.
Robert Palmer founded Palmer Vineyards in 1983 on a rolling parcel of gravelly farmland on the North Fork of Long Island. The fine seaside climate and soils of Long Island’s North Fork provide exceptional conditions for the making of world-class varietal wines. With 110 acres planted with Merlot, Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, Gewurztraminer, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc to supply the winery’s 20,000 annual case production, Palmer strives to preserve and enhance the purity of flavor and distinctive, fresh character which makes this region’s wines so unique. The state- of-the art winery contains the most modern winemaking equipment available today, and also includes substantial new French oak cooperage, purchased each year, for both barrel fermentation of our Chardonnay and the aging of our premium red varietals.
Osprey’s Dominion Vineyard
At Osprey’s Dominion we truly believe our location (being surrounded, yet sheltered, by both the LI Sound and Peconic Bay) and the complexity of the farming soil here, contribute significantly to the quality and character of our grapes, and hence, our wines. We currently grow the most varietals on Long Island, 13. those varietals include Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Riesling, Gewurztraminer, Pinot Gris, Malbec, Tannat, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petite Verdot and Carmenere. We have the most styles of wine to offer including a few exclusives such as Carmenere, Edelzwicker and Spice Wine.
We have also expanded our popular second label, Richmond Creek to include Chardonnay, Riesling , Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon to go along with our Red Blend which recently was noted a “Best Buy” by Howard Goldberg of the NY Times.
